Have You Ever?

Have You Ever?
Have you ever been given a gift that didn’t benefit you? I am not talking about a silly tie or a fruit cake. The question I am asking is this: Did you ever receive a gift that didn’t immediately make your life better because you didn’t understand its value, lacked the skill to use it, or wouldn’t take the time to consider how it could be used to change your life for the good?
Occasionally in my years as a builder, someone would give me a specialty tool (usually a supplier) with the statement, “This will make life easier.” I would usually stick them on a shelf or in a box and forget about them. Every now and then I would grow tired enough of the way I was working and think that there’s got to be a better way and then remember…only to yell at myself, “Why didn’t you use this a long time ago?”
This Sunday I will begin the new series, “Gifts R Us”. The message will be “Short Changed” and I will be talking to those of us who look at others and wonder why God seems to be more and do more with them than me. The truth is, your Father in Heaven has gifted you, but if you’ve stuck it on the shelf, don’t know its value, or are unwilling to consider how it could change your life, you’ll likely go around feeling short changed.
Gift yourself Sunday by discovering how God works in life and gift others by bringing someone with you.

God is Good

God is Good
God is good but what good is it if you don’t know God “as” good? If you focus more on the troubles of life such as the way others treat you, the way life treats you, or even the way you treat yourself; you will find it difficult to know God is good.
The secret to a better life is this: When you fill your life with God you are filling your life with good. Get a free fill-up this Sunday!
Welcome Back The Teens!
Help me welcome back the teens this Sunday by taking the time to welcome our youth and their leaders back from Ignite. Encourage them to not let the good end with the past week. Let them know they are the next generation church and we will support them as they seek, serve, and share God.

Are You Excluded?

Are you Excluded?
Even if you’ve accepted Christ, it’s possible to still feel excluded. I’ve received several questions for the “You Asked For It” series that deal with the concern of exclusion.
This week, we will unpack why God will end the world, why some won’t make it to heaven, and why Hell was created. I will do my best this Sunday to strip away any confusion, because God does not want you to be (or feel) excluded!
