Really Happy!

Really Happy!
It seems too good to be true but you can be happy no matter what.
There are five reasons why you should be happy:
1. God saved you – He canceled your ticket to hell. Every Christian should be really happy.
2. God promises to work out everything for our good provided we are striving to live for His purpose.
3. You are blessed. Stop looking at what you don’t have and start enjoying what you do have!
4. Happiness is attractive. Happy people attract happy people. Hurt people, hurt people. Abused people, abuse people – so choose to be happy.
5. Being unhappy, worried, or stressed doesn’t change a thing. You can be happy no matter what but the choice is yours.
God wants to help us become happy. Find out this Sunday how.

Got Praise?

Got Praise?
The Bible says that God dwells in (inhabits) the praise of His people. I praise God for my church – I love my church! In case you don’t remember, YOU are my church. It’s not a place, not a single day, and certainly not a building.
I praise God for you. I praise God for Ben Williams who did a great job delivering his first message last Sunday. I praise God for our worship and media team, Unplugged teens team, KidsRock team, First Impressions team, Ronnie, Kathy, and Edie – the behind the scenes team. I praise God for you who support us financially and especially you who show up every Sunday to grow closer to our heavenly Father. I praise God for you church, for being Jesus to each other – to those in recovery, to those who are wrong and need forgiveness, and for those who are experiencing loss of loved ones (I’ll miss you Jim Sweeney).
I’ve never felt closer to God than at Rock Spring, but maybe it’s not that Rock Spring is special – it’s you who call it home. I praise God for you.
This Sunday, I will wrap up the series, “Evolution Resolution” – know what you believe and why you believe it. I will share this thought: while you and I can’t prove God to others, God is ready to prove Himself to you.
See you Sunday!

Money! Money! Money!

Money! Money! Money!
Do you get anxious at just the thought of money? Do you get anxious at just the thought of money? It seems too good to be true but Jesus has made a way for you to live that will remove all worry from your finances.
There is both a spiritual and practical side to managing money but unless you have a plan that includes both sides, money troubles are just around the corner.
This was one of the hardest principals for me to learn but the freedom that comes with applying them is too good not to share with you this Sunday.
