Cheer Up

Wow!  Last Sunday was awesome!  I met several of you for the first time and really enjoyed talking with each of you.  I will never get tired of hearing that God is talking directly to you through our messages or how Jesus is changing your life as you follow Him.  I also had the great privilege of watching four people celebrate their relationship with Jesus by being baptized at the river after church last Sunday!

Last Sunday, wasn’t it freeing to find out that even Jesus experienced moods?  This Sunday, I am going to pick up where I left off and continue to unpack what the Bible says about our moods.   Do your moods control you or have you discovered how to have good cheer even when your mood isn’t cheerful?

I am going to do a Cheer-Up Check-Up this week for all of us!

I’ve discovered that not only is there such a thing as good cheer, but there is also bad cheer.  Bad cheer leads us into a cycle of masking out troubles and never living in complete joy.  Join me this Sunday and find out how to never again see your life as a glass half empty.

Moody?

We all enjoy being happy but why is it so hard to stay that way?  Stress and circumstances of everyday life can affect your joy, especially if you are not skilled at being a “Moodswinger”.  You don’t have to let your emotions control your mood.  The secret to lasting joy has less to do with controlling our circumstances and more to do with protecting with what’s going on inside us.  Join me this Sunday as we kick a new series and discover how to become a great Moodswinger.

Please allow me to thank each of you for the growing number of encouraging words and acts of kindness, many of which have been done anonymously.  I want you all to know that you have touched my heart.  I really do love our church!

Remember the one thing that I would love each of you to do for me – INVITE, INVITE, INVITE!  Seeing lives change is my greatest joy and it can’t happen without your help.

WTH?

WTH?

God is moving with those who move!

I am enjoying hearing how God is moving with some of you. Please know He’s moving because you are moving too. You’re not just standing and waiting but acting on God’s Word.

My hope and desire is that this movement of God will not be limited to just a few of you – He’s God of all and wants each of you to reach your full potential. Here is a reminder of how to do just that:

Exploring God’s peace and power always begins with a WTH (what the heck) moment. You’re boxed in with pressure from behind and seemingly no where to go.RELAX. God has you exactly where He wants you, in a position to be used – to help reveal His glory and experience His power and protection. JUST MOVE!  Do what you believe God’s Word is saying to you. Remember, God’s Word is not just the written word (The Bible) but everything God says to you and about you. You are His chosen, loved and blessed. God’s not out to hurt you but to help you become all you can be.

Labor Day is this weekend but please make Jesus and His church part of your holiday weekend. You will be blessed!

This Sunday J.C. Jennings and Dillon Francis will be helping with the best on-stage illustration ever as we wrap up Gifts R Us.  Trust me, you won’t want to miss this.  I can’t wait.

See you Sunday – Pastor Mike
