Senior Pastor ~ Mike Lowrey leads us every Sunday with a thought provoking message. Although it is not long before his sense of humor comes through, he will always speak from a heart that is longing to please God.

Administrative Assistant/Drummer ~ Kathy Lowery is Mikes’ wonderful wife and a proud mother of two beautiful daughters. While Kathy handles all our administrative work at Rock Spring, she also blesses us with her fun and joyful demeanor.

Together, they have two daughters, Jessica and Jennifer, two son-laws, Vince and Ryan, and four grandchildren.

Growing up, Mike and Kathy had similar church experiences, you know…where the people seemed “perfect” on Sunday but not so much on Monday!  When they married they both desired to know more about God and His son Jesus Christ. They longed for a place where they could experience God in a real way, within an encouraging environment, and without unrealistic expectations or condemnation.

So, after much prayer Mike walked away from his dream job of building custom homes and attended Luther Rice Seminary. He is a certified church planter through the North American Mission Board, is affiliated with American Association of Christian Counselors, and is a certified instructor with PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program).

Mike and Kathy, together with a small group of friends, began Rock Spring Church. A place where the people of Jefferson County and the surrounding areas can come to experience God for themselves in a warm, friendly, and encouraging environment.

 On Sunday’s you’ll find Kathy behind the drums as part of our praise and worship team.  During the week you will hear her sweet voice answering the phones at Rock Spring Church where she is Adminstrative Assistant. Mike and Kathy love to travel and spend time outdoors and they both want you to know there is a real God that cares about you and your life.

Associate Pastor ~ Gloria Russell is a native of Harlem, New York.  She is the mother of three; Stephen, Angela and Michael, and the grandmother of seven. Her passion is teaching the Word of God and bringing others to a fuller understanding of the Truth that is found in the Bible. Her delivery of the Word of God is straightforward and often self revealing. She came to Rock Spring in its infancy and enjoys working closely with its leaders and congregation.

Gloria loves to laugh and enjoys people, she also enjoys reading, writing, and fishing.  She presently resides in Charles Town, WV.
